Leah is an artisan jewelry designer with a BFA in Oil Painting and over 8 years experience in the jewelry industry.
"My background is in fine arts & oil painting. While I was in school getting my BFA in Painting, I continued to find myself being drawn towards metalsmithing. As I started to learn the basics, I was immediately hooked. Once I graduated, I got a job in a local jewelry studio and was fully immersed in learning the trade. I eventually branched out on my own and started my business in 2017.

What is Gold Vermeil & How to Care for It
In short, gold vermeil is a thick layer of gold over a solid sterling silver base.
In the US, jewelry has to meet certain regulations to be considered vermeil. Items need to meet the required gold thickness of at least 2.5 microns, it must be 10k or higher, and it must be over sterling silver.
